SynchroTek and SynchroPlus mechanisms: latest-generation ergonomics

SynchroTek and SynchroPlus mechanisms

What is excellence? At Moving, it is the philosophy that guides every project and inevitably runs through the heart of all its products: the mechanism. SynchroTek and SynchroPlus are concrete proof of our company's ability to combine advanced technology and ease of use.

A symbol of Italian quality and excellence in the design and manufacture of ergonomic chairs for over forty years, these mechanisms by Moving are developed and manufactured in-house, with maximum control over all stages of the production process.

Each solution is the result of in-depth ergonomic analysis and the study of the principles of posture and movement, in order to meet the high standards of well-being and safety required by professional environments.

Moving chairs are therefore the result of years of research and rigorous testing, enabling us to offer certified, durable mechanisms that guarantee maximum comfort and an intuitive, personalised user experience.

In this article, we will analyse two of the different mechanisms used in our chairs, highlighting their main features, differences and benefits in different contexts.

Main features of the SynchroTek mechanism

The SynchroTek mechanism has been developed to offer an ergonomic, highly customisable seating experience in line with the needs of modern professionals. Let's take a closer look at the specific features of SynchroTek.

SynchroTek mechanism

Mechanism tension adjuster

The tension adjustment of the mechanism is an additional feature that allows you to customise the resistance of the swing according to the weight of the person sitting on it.

The three-axis adjustable armrest system (height, depth and lateral) is designed to support and sustain the arms during everyday activities.

Seat adjustment

One of the main features of the SynchroTek mechanism is the seat height adjustment, which allows the chair to be easily adapted to the height of the user and to dynamic workstations.

The height adjustment is complemented by the seat depth adjustment, up to 6 cm and in five different positions, a feature necessary to ensure proper leg support and improve blood circulation.

Adjustable lumbar support

The manually adjustable lumbar support provides proper support for the lower back, improving well-being and comfort and preventing muscle fatigue, especially during prolonged use.

SynchroTek stands out for its advanced technology combined with ease of use, making Moving chairs ideal for high-intensity work environments.

Negative tilt system

SynchroTek is equipped with a 4.5 negative seat tilt system, which allows for a dynamic posture, particularly suitable for those who spend many hours at a desk.

The locking mechanism allows the movement to be locked or made fluid, for a backrest tilt of 26° and a seat tilt of 10.5°, adjustable according to individual needs.

Main features of the SynchroPlus mechanism

The SynchroPlus mechanism is a technical solution that combines advanced functionality and ease of use. The unique features of this innovative Moving technology are listed below.

SynchroPlus mechanism

Adjustable mechanism

The SynchroPlus mechanism is equipped with a tension regulator, which allows the swing resistance to be adjusted according to weight, thus ensuring balanced and safe movement at all times.

As with SynchoTek, the armrests are adjustable in height, depth and sideways, facilitating the correct alignment of the arms and shoulders, and a manually adjustable lumbar support system provides effective support for the lumbar region.

Gas lift seat

The gas lift seat allows for smooth and immediate height adjustment, enabling the user to adapt the chair to their work surface quickly and precisely

Height and depth adjustmentHeight and depth adjustment

The system is supported by height adjustment and a seat depth adjustment of 6 cm, possible in five positions, in order to optimise contact between the thighs and the seat and improve comfort even during long working sessions.

Tilt system

The locking/unlocking system allows the backrest to be tilted by 20° and the seat to be tilted by 8%, allowing you to choose between a free, dynamic seat that adapts to your movements and a stabilised position, improving flexibility according to personal preferences.

Negative seat

The SynchroPlus mechanism has been further improved with the addition of the ‘negative seat’ option, as found on the SynchroTek mechanism.

With this mechanism, no levers or buttons are required, as the negative seat instantly adapts to body movements, allowing for a tilt of up to -7°. This additional feature allows for smooth and free body movement.

Differences between SynchroTek and SynchroPlus

Although they share many basic features, the SynchroTek and SynchroPlus mechanisms have some design differences that make them suitable for different contexts and uses.

Backrest tilt systems

  • SynchroTek offers a 26° tilt lock-release system for the backrest and 10.5° for the seat tilt.
  • SynchroPlus is equipped with a 20° lock-release system for the backrest movement and 8° for the seat.

Seat adjustment

Both mechanisms allow for seat depth adjustment, but differ in the type of additional adjustments:

  • SynchroTek integrates 4.5° negative seat tilt adjustment, a feature that promotes a more dynamic posture, particularly useful for those who need to change position frequently during the working day.
  • SynchroPlus provides negative tilt up to -7°, with a non-lockable, free function for smooth and easy depth adjustment, ensuring continuous comfort even during prolonged use.

Advantages and benefits of Moving mechanisms

The SynchroTek and SynchroPlus mechanisms are the result of careful design aimed at offering ergonomic, high-quality seats that are built to last.

  1. Customisable ergonomics: each mechanism allows the chair to be adapted to specific posture and activity requirements, thanks to multiple types of intuitive adjustments.
  2. Comfort and well-being over time: Moving ergonomic seats reduce muscle fatigue and promote correct posture throughout the working day, thanks to balanced oscillation systems and adjustable supports.
  3. Long-term reliability: all components are made from high-quality materials and undergo durability testing, ensuring high resistance even in high-intensity environments.
  4. Easy maintenance and cleaning: the seat covers are easily washable with non-aggressive, soap-based detergents. Annual maintenance of the gas lift is carried out by simple cleaning and lubrication.

Quality certifications

Moving's certifications represent the company's ongoing commitment to complying with strict environmental and regulatory requirements, promoting the concept of transparency and traceability throughout the entire production chain.

Both mechanisms are certified by the TÜV Rheinland Group, an international body that verifies compliance with European standards EN 1335 and EN 16139: this certificate guarantees the safety, durability and ergonomic suitability of the mechanisms for use in professional and communal environments.

In addition, SynchroTek and SynchroPlus have obtained Green iTop certification, which attests to the environmental sustainability of products throughout their entire life cycle. This recognition rewards the use of materials and the implementation of production processes with low environmental impact, in line with the principles of eco-design.

These mechanisms combine practicality of use with user well-being, which remains the starting point for every Moving product, ensuring a high-quality, versatile seat that complies with international standards.
